| Jessica Pilar Rodríguez
was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico. After graduating
high school, she moved to the United States to pursue a Bachelor
of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from the Rochester Institute
of Technology in Rochester, New York. Upon completing her degree,
she moved to Washington, D.C., where she worked as a senior
designer at MFM Design for five years developing projects in
print, exhibitions, web and interactive media. She holds a Master
of Arts in Digital Arts and a Master of Fine Arts in Graphic
Design from the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore,
Maryland. On a trip to Portugal in the summer of 2004, she was
inspired by the ceramic tile patterns used in their Moorish-influenced
architecture. The Jessica Pilar patterns may be used in the
arenas of fashion, textiles, paper and interior design for homes,
restaurants, corporations, and stores. |
